چکیده
Abstract A generic trap lure blend of host volatiles (ethanol + α-pinene) and Ips bark beetle pheromones (ipsenol ipsdienol) is effective for detecting numerous species longhorn beetles (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) in pine forests North America. In 2021, the potential benefits adding two other (lanierone cis-verbenol) to traps baited with were determined north Georgia. Lanierone cis-verbenol had no effect on catches six cerambycid captured study: Acanthocinus nodosus (F.), A. obsoletus (LeConte), Astylopsis arcuata Monochamus titillator Neoclytus acuminatus Xylotrechus sagittatus Germar. Similarly, neither compound any some common ambrosia snout weevils nor associated predators, all commonly caught blend. contrast, avulsus Eichhoff I. grandicollis (Eichhoff) enhanced by addition lanierone, whereas those calligraphus (Germar) Hylastes tenuis (Curculionidae) cis-verbenol. The data do not support lanierone or ethanol α-pinene ipsenol ipsdienol as a broad detection

Ipsenol and ipsdienol attract Monochamus titillator (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) and associated large pine woodborers in southeastern United States.
We determined the responses of the southern pine sawyer, Monochamus titillator (F.) (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae), to the pheromones (ipsenol, ipsdienol, and lanierone) used by pine engraver beetles (Coleoptera: Scolytidae) in the southeastern United States. (+/-)-Ipsenol, (+/-)-ipsdienol, or a combination increased catches of M. titillator in Florida, Louisiana, Georgia, and North Carolina. Catch...

In 2006, we examined the flight responses of 43 species of longhorn beetles (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) to multiple-funnel traps baited with binary lure blends of (1) ipsenol + ipsdienol, (2) ethanol + alpha-pinene, and a quaternary lure blend of (3) ipsenol + ipsdienol + ethanol + alpha-pinene in the southeastern United States. In addition, we monitored responses of Buprestidae, Elateridae, and...

متن کاملForest Entomology Pine Sawyers (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) Attracted to a-Pinene, Monochamol, and Ipsenol in North America
Detection tools are needed for Monochamus species (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) because they are known to introduce pine wilt disease by vectoring nematodes in Asia, Europe, and North America. In 2012–2014, we examined the effects of the semiochemicals monochamol and ipsenol on the flight responses of the sawyer beetles Monochamus carolinensis (Olivier), Monochamus clamator (LeConte), Monochamus m...

ABSTRACT In 2007–2008, we examined the flight responses of wood-boring beetles (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae and Buprestidae) to multiple-funnel traps baited with the pine volatiles, ethanol, and apinene [85% (–)], and the bark beetle pheromones, racemic ipsenol and racemic ipsdienol. Experiments were conducted in mature pine stands in Canada (Ontario and New Brunswick) and the United States (Arkan...
